Tai Chi Chair Two Day Training
Tai Chi has for hundreds of years been practised by the Chinese as a martial art. More recently the health benefits of this art have been promoted in the western world, including Australia.
Since 2000 Active Ageing Australia has been proud to have been associated with one of the outstanding pioneers of the art of Tai Chi in South Australia, Rosemary Palmer.
As Principal Teacher, Moving Meditation School of Tai Chi and Qigong, Rosemary has taught the art of Tai Chi to thousands of people over many years. Her passion, enthusiasm, and great ability as a teacher and communicator have enabled her to enhance the health and lives of many in our society by connecting them to this ancient and enduring form of ‘moving meditation’.
Tai Chi Chair is a combination of traditional and contemporary Tai Chi forms based on the very popular Yang style of Tai Chi.
It has been created by Rosemary Palmer exclusively for Active Ageing Australia and is designed to compliment the EMAA course. It is primarily chair-based but includes footwork for those participants that are more mobile. With regular practice Tai Chi Chair gives many benefits including improved breathing, flexibility and posture.
The program is designed to encourage those who are able, to learn the footwork, thereby giving even more benefits to this easy to learn Tai Chi form. Tai Chi Chair is suitable for all ages but particularly the older client.
The format consists of gentle warm-ups, detailed teaching on the Tai Chi forms, how to teach the programme safely and how to start a class. A short Qigong sequence is used as a cool-down. The sequence itself is well-balanced and is designed to be presented as a complete programme or as an extension of the EMAA program. The program is supported by video/DVD and notes.
This combination presentation of Tai Chi Chair Step One & Step Two-enhancement brings you the complete form over two days to provide a comprehensive skill base in Tai Chi Chair. We are confident you will be able to use this movement form to, not only enhance your clients’ enjoyment and experience, but improve their health and sense of well being.
