The 11th annual SA Gerontology Conference will be presented by the SA/NT Division of the Australian Association of Gerontology and supported by ECH Inc, Domiciliary Care SA,  Helping Hand Aged Care, Alzheimer's Australia SA and Commhouse, at the Stamford Grand, Glenelg on Friday 10 September 2010.

This conference will bring together a wide range of people with an interest in ageing, and offers a great opportunity to share innovative work and recent knowledge in this field.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Maggie Beer, 2010 Senior Australian of the Year
  • Professor Mary Luszcz, Director Centre of Ageing Studies, Flinders University
  • Professor Colleen Cartwright, Director Aged Services Learning and Research Centre, Southern Cross University
  • Dr Peter Orpin, Senior Research Fellow University of Tasmania
  • Professor Malcolm Battersby, Director Flinders Human Behaviour and Health Research Unit, Flinders University

The AAG is Australia's largest multidisciplinary professional association of people working in the diverse fields of ageing. Its members include a broad range of health professionals, researchers from the social and medical sciences, government sector staff, providers and staff of aged care services, and older people themselves.

The AAG has a National program of activities as well as active Divisions at State and Territory level. It is also part of an international network through its membership of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics.
